Pentwyn farm has survived virtually unchanged for centuries. In the early 90s, Gwent Wildlife Trust purchased the farm restoring its historic barn with oak timber, extracted by horse. They now manage the land traditionally, to maintain a historical farm rich in wildlife. Surrounding the farm are nationally important wildflower meadows. In spring there are cowslips, early purple and green-winder orchids, with more orchid varieties joining a carpet of common knapweed, oxeye daisy, yellow-rattle and eyebright in summer. The honey bees and other pollinators have rich pickings to choose from!
